Wolves Start Homestand with 120-104 Win over Grand Rapids

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves started its four-game homestand with a 120-104 win over Grand Rapids on Friday night at Wells Fargo.
Iowa (8-5) had seven players finish in double figures, including all five starters. CJ Elleby and Emmanuel Mudiay each scored 20 points, PJ Dozier and Josh Minott each tallied 15 points and the trio of Javonte Cooke, Matt Lewis and Brandon Sampson each had 12 points. Cooke’s 12 is a new career high.
The Wolves led 32-30 after one quarter but broke open the close game with a big second quarter outscoring Grand Rapids (2-9), 38-26, for a 70-56 halftime lead. Iowa led by 24 at one point as it improved to 5-0 at Wells Fargo this season.
Two-way forward Jack White recorded a double-double with a game-high 25 points and 10 rebounds in his first game this season with the Charge. Jared Butler added 23 points.
Grand Rapids and Iowa run it back Saturday night at 7 p.m. CT at Wells Fargo Arena.
