Wolves Start 2025 with New Year's Night Game against the Spurs

AUSTIN – The Iowa Wolves start 2025 with a New Year’s night game at the Austin Spurs on Wednesday at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. and the game will be streamed on ESPN+.

Iowa (1-1) visits Austin (0-2) coming off a thrilling 126-122 comeback win over the Mexico City Capitanes in overtime on Sunday. The Wolves erased a double-digit deficit in the final quarter, Trevor Keels sent the game into overtime with a fadeaway corner three-pointer at the buzzer in regulation and Jaedon LeDee won it in overtime surpassing the target score with his only three of the game. Keels finished with a career-high 32 points while LeDee equaled his career-best with 13 points. 

Wednesday night will be the first of two scheduled meetings between the two teams this regular season with Iowa returning to Austin on March 20. Team records reset for the regular season portion of the NBA G League season. Austin dropped its first two regular season games as the Stockton Kings swept a two-game home series.

Following Wednesday night, Iowa returns home to host the Santa Cruz Warriors for a two-game series with games on Saturday, Jan. 4 and Tuesday, Jan. 7. Both games will tipoff at 6:30 p.m. CT.  Tuesday night will be Los Lobos: Hispanic Heritage Celebration, the third game in the Principal Community Celebration Series. The Wolves will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off to benefit the Hola Center of Iowa. A postgame concert with Grupo 515 will take place.
