Wolves Snap Losing Streak with Win Over Magic

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Iowa Wolves started its final road trip of the regular season with a 136-128 road win over the Osceola Magic on Monday night at the Silver Spurs Arena. The two teams will meet again Wednesday night at 6 p.m. CT at Silver Spurs Arena.

Five players for Iowa (7-24) scored in double figures as the Wolves snapped a nine-game losing streak. As a team, Iowa knocked down 20 three-pointers and forced 24 turnovers by Osceola (21-10) leading to 32 points.

Two-way Daishen Nix finished with a team-high 27 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five steals. Tyrese Martin had 26 points and 13 rebounds while coming off the bench Lance Stephenson just missed a triple-double with 23 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Mac McClung scored a game-high 37 points for the Magic while two-way Trevlin Queen had 31 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.

Osceola led by 14 in the second quarter, but Iowa was able to cut the deficit in half to seven at halftime, 62-55.  The third quarter was back-and-forth as each team held six-point leads with Osceola taking a 91-85 lead into the fourth quarter. 

Queen and McClung each made threes to give Osceola nine with a three by Nix in between. The Magic continued to lead until the Wolves ripped off a 12-0 scoring run that turned a four-point deficit into an 8-point advantage, 125-117 after Martin’s layup with 1:37 remaining. 

The Wolves finish the season at home on March 29 and 30 when the Austin Spurs visit Wells Fargo Arena.
