Wolves Return Home Saturday Night to Host Warriors

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves return to Wells Fargo Arena on Saturday night to host the Santa Cruz Warriors in the first matchup of a two-game series between the teams. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT.
Saturday begins the home portion of Iowa’s regular season schedule. The Wolves finished with an impressive 6-1 home record during the Tip-Off Tournament, the first half of the NBA G League season, helping them win the Central Division title and a spot in the Showcase Cup. Team records reset for the regular season in the G League.
Iowa (1-2) guard El Ellis is off to a great start in the regular season, averaging 27.7 points, 6.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game. He is in his first professional season after a successful college career with stops at Louisville and Arkansas.
Santa Cruz (2-0) is off to a strong start this regular season after finishing with a 7-9 overall record in the Tip-Off Tournament. Kevin Knox II is the team’s leading scorer, averaging 19.7 points to go with 7.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. The Warriors play at the Sioux Falls Skyforce Friday night.
Fans are encouraged to come early Saturday for a special card show on the arena concourse, starting at 4:30 pm. A game ticket will get you in to the card show.
The two teams will play again on Tuesday, January 7 for another game in the Principal Community Celebration series: Los Lobos, Hispanic Heritage Night! Iowa will be wearing specialty green jerseys, which are now available to bid in auction with the proceeds benefitting Hola Center of Iowa. Stick around after the game for a concert from Son Peruchos!
