Wolves Drop Their Regular Season Opener to Skyhawks, 114-100

DES MOINES, Iowa – The College Park Skyhawks led from start-to-finish over the Iowa Wolves in a 114-100 win on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
College Park (1-1) was led by Atlanta assignment Kobe Bufkin who poured in a game-high 29 points to go with nine rebounds and six assists. Chris Silva finished with a double-double posting 26 points and 12 rebounds.
Iowa (0-1) had six players in double figures highlighted by Javonte Cooke who scored 19 points. Minnesota assignment Leonard Miller had 16 points while Wendell Moore Jr. tallied 15 points. Rookie Kok Yat scored a career-high nine points, going 3-of-3 from three.
Iowa couldn’t recover from a slow start in the opening quarter as it shot just 31.6 percent (6-of-19) from the field. College Park held a 36-23 lead helped by shooting 54.5 percent (12-of-22). Silva had 13 of his points in the first quarter.
The teams square off again on New Year’s Eve at 2 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena.
