WEST VALLEY, Utah – An undermanned Iowa Wolves squad battled the Salt Lake City Stars Friday night in a 131-114 loss at the Maverik Center.

Matt Lewis equaled his career best with a game-high 30 points, including making 13-of-15 free throws. Lewis also pulled down 11 rebounds to record his first double-double of the season. Tyler Hagedorn scored a career-high 20 points off the bench. Javonte Cook set his career-high with 24 points.

Iowa (1-3) had just seven available players and dropped to just six players late in the third quarter after Phillip Wheeler received his second technical foul and was ejected.

Johnny Juzang had 24 points off the bench for Salt Lake City (1-3).

The Stars started the game on fire as they built a 32-17 lead after one quarter and later led by as many as 27 points. However, the Wolves clawed back and trailed by just five points late in the third period. But Salt Lake City continuously fought off Iowa with key baskets and the Wolves could never close the gap and get within one possession.

The teams turn around and square off again Saturday night at the Maverik Center with tipoff scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
