Wolves Drop Saturday Night Game To Windy City

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Windy City Bulls (1-1) used hot shooting after the first quarter in its 104-79 win over the Iowa Wolves (1-1) on Saturday night at Wells Fargo Arena.

Henri Drell earned the start for Windy City and finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Max Heidegger made five three-pointers and had 17 points. Onuralp Bitim and Chris Clemons each scored 14 points. 

Minnesota assignee Leonard Miller posted his second-straight double-double for Iowa with a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds.  Trevor Keels added 21 points while Phillip Wheeler had 15 points off the bench.

Iowa limited Windy City to just 17 points in the first quarter and led 22-17 but the Bulls heated up in the second quarter and flipped the deficit to a five-point halftime lead of 51-46. Windy City broke the game open in the third quarter with 35 points while holding Iowa to just 17. Windy City led by as many as 27 points on its way to taking the split on opening weekend.

Iowa was held to just 8-of-43 (18.6 percent) from three as Windy City knocked down 16-of-48 (33.3 percent) beyond the arc. 

Iowa visits Motor City Tuesday night at 6 p.m. CT in its first road game of the season.
