Wolves Drop Road Game to the Clippers, 146-108

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Iowa Wolves dropped its road game at the Ontario Clippers Thursday evening by a score of 146-108 at the Toyota Center.
Ontario (12-13) scored a season-high in points behind hot shooting, including 57 percent (53-of-93) from the field and 47.9 percent (23-of-48) from beyond the arc. Moussa Diabate had another big game with a game-high 29 points on 11-of-14 shooting and added nine rebounds.
Minnesota Timberwolves’ assignee Leonard Miller led Iowa (6-19) with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting. The Wolves made 16-of-47 (34 percent) from three but struggled in the paint allowing 58 points by the Clippers. Iowa committed 16 turnovers that led to 26 points by Ontario.
The first quarter was back-and-forth until late in the opening quarter when Ontario ripped off a 13-2 closing run to help the Clippers never trail again in the second meeting between the teams this week. Ontario led by as many as 42 points in the fourth.
Iowa had an additional five players join Miller in double figures including Javonte Cook who finished with 21 points. Trevor Keels and Lance Stephenson each scored 14 points. Coming off the bench, Tyrese Martin had 15 points while Giorgi Bezhanishvili posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Iowa closes its five-game road trip Sunday afternoon visiting the Stockton Kings at 4 p.m. CT.
