Wolves Draft Yat with 25th Overall Pick in 2023 Draft

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves announced today that the team selected forward Kok (Cook) Yat with the 25th overall pick in the 2023 NBA G League draft. In addition, Iowa selected guards Nojel Eastern with the 41st pick and Denzel Mahoney with the 57th pick.
Yat, 6-9, from Anchorage, Alaska played the last two seasons for the Overtime Elite. During the 2020-21 season with Elite, Yat averaged 10.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
Eastern, 6-7, from Evanston, Ill. played three seasons for Purdue University from 2017-20. He twice was named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team and was a member of two Elite Eight teams at Purdue. Eastern has played the past professional seasons in Mexico.
Mahoney, 6-5, from Oviedo, Fla. played two seasons for Creighton University and two seasons for Southeast Missouri State from 2016-20. He spent the past two season with the Austin Spurs in the G League, appearing in 72 games for the Spurs.
