Wolves Acquire First Round Pick for Wheeler in Trade With Mexico

The Iowa Wolves announced today that the team has acquired a first round pick in the 2024 NBA G League Draft from the Mexico City Capitanes in exchange for forward Phillip Wheeler. The first-round pick was originally acquired by Mexico City from the Stockton Kings.

In his second season with Iowa, Wheeler played in 11 games (four starts), averaging 10.5 points and 4.0 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per game. Wheeler appeared in 36 games (seven starts) in 2022-23, averaging 8.1 points and 4.3 rebounds in 19.4 minutes per game. 

Iowa hosts the Cleveland Charge tonight at 7 p.m. CT at Wells Fargo Arena.
