Iowa Wolves Host Cleveland Charge in Back-to-Back Monday & Tuesday

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves host the Cleveland Charge on Monday and Tuesday night in back-to-back NBA G League action at Wells Fargo Arena. Both games will start at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Entering Monday night, Iowa at 9-2 is tied with the Oklahoma City Blue for the best record in the G League. With three games remaining in Tip-Off Tournament play a win over the Charge Monday will help the team move one step closer to claiming one of the eight spots to compete for the Showcase Cup in a single-elimination tournament during the NBA G League Winter Showcase Dec. 19-22 in Orlando, Fla. The Wolves look to bounce back from their 104-91 road loss to the Windy City Bulls this past Saturday night. The Bulls snapped Iowa’s five-game winning streak behind a strong close to the first quarter erasing a 10-point deficit. Windy City maintained control of the game starting the third period on a 10-0 run as the Wolves never got the deficit back to single digits.

Tuesday will be Black Excellence Night and a black community celebration with the team wearing jerseys designed by Black Excellence Iowa. Black Excellence Iowa is a non-profit based in Iowa dedicated to the growth, empowerment and education of the black community and youth. The jersey auction will run from Friday, Dec. 6 through Friday, Dec. 13. Proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit Black Excellence Iowa.

Following the back-to-back against the Charge, Iowa hosts the Motor City Cruise Friday night for its Howliday Game. The first 1,500 fans will receive a free Naz Reid scarf. The game will be a holiday celebration featuring Santa Claus available for pictures in the Busch Light bar (located inside the north entrance of Wells Fargo Arena) a winter wonderland for kids in the Champions Club with a gingerbread bounce house and a holiday train to ride on the upper arena concourse.
