Iowa Wolves Fall to South Bay Lakers, 124-113

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – The South Bay Lakers defeated the Iowa Wolves, 124-113, on Monday night at the UCLA Training Center.

Iowa (3-11), which played its third consecutive road game, led by 10 points after the first quarter over South Bay (9-4). The Lakers took control of the game behind blistering shooting in the second and third quarters, shooting better than 60.0 percent from the field each quarter and making 10 total threes. Iowa outscored South Bay, 32-23, in the final quarter and pulled within eight after falling behind by 24 but the deficit was too much.

Javonte Cooke led Iowa with a season-high 29 points while Minnesota assignee Leonard Miller finished with 24. Fellow Timberwolves’ assignee, Josh Minott, scored 16 in the game with 10 coming in the first quarter. Tyrese Martin added 17 points.

Eight Lakers, led by Louis King with 22 points, scored 10 or more points. 

Iowa closes its four-game road trip on Wednesday night against the NBA G League Ignite. Tipoff in Henderson, Nev. is set for 9 p.m. CT and the game will be shown on ESPN+.
