Iowa Wolves Complete Weekend Sweep of Sioux Falls

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves completed a weekend sweep of the Sioux Falls Skyforce with its 120-99 win Sunday afternoon at Wells Fargo Arena. For the second-straight game, Iowa (2-0) led from start to finish over Sioux Falls (0-2).

The Wolves were paced in scoring again by Luka Garza who poured in 22 points behind another stellar shooting performance going 9-of-12 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three. All four of Iowa’s other starters finished in double figures as Josh Minott chipped in 19 while Emmanuel Mudiay and Wendell Moore Jr. each had 17 points. Matt Lewis scored 13 points and added five rebounds.

Two-way Jamal Cain scored a game-high 23 points and added eight rebounds for the Skyforce. Orland Robinson had 18 points, Mychal Mulder had 13 and Chandler Hutchison tallied 12 off the bench.

Minott’s putback were the game’s first points and he followed with a three on the next possession. Wolves extended their lead to 40-30 at end of the quarter as eight different players scored.

Iowa’s PJ Dozier returned for his first game action since tearing his ACL early last season in an NBA game with the Denver Nuggets. Dozier made a clutch three-pointer midway through the fourth quarter that pushed the lead to 11 after Sioux Falls had cut the lead to under ten. Dozier finished with eight points and six rebounds in 15:59 of action.

Iowa will travel to Chicago next weekend for back-to-back games against Windy City on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday’s game will start at 5 p.m. and be broadcast on NBAGLeague.com and NBC Sports Chicago. Sunday will be a 2 p.m. tip and be broadcast nationally on NBATV.
