SALT LAKE CITY – The Iowa Wolves are on the road the rest of this week, starting their trip on Thursday night at the Salt Lake City Stars at 8 p.m. CT, with the game on ESPN+. Iowa (1-4) finishes the quick road trip on Saturday night at the Rio Grande Valley Vipers at 7 p.m. CT and that game will be streamed on the Tubi App.
Iowa is looking to snap a three-game losing streak when it takes the floor against Salt Lake City (2-3). The Wolves are coming off a pair of home losses to the Santa Cruz Warriors (5-0) who currently are tied with the Stockton Kings (5-0) for the best records this regular season. Team records reset for the regular season when teams started the second half of the G League season on December 27.
Iowa will get a boost from 2024 Minnesota Timberwolves first round pick Terrence Shannon Jr. who was assigned to Iowa on Wednesday. In two games with the Wolves this season, Shannon Jr. helped lead the team to a pair of wins and averaged 33.0 points, 4.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game.
Shannon Jr. joins newly signed Minnesota two-way guard Tristen Newton who played in his first game with Iowa in the series finale against the Warriors Tuesday night. Newton scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and handed out six assists in his debut.
Iowa returns home Monday, January 13 to host the Rip City Remix and then will welcome the Greensboro Swarm to Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday, January 15. Both games will start at 6:30 p.m. CT.
