OSHKOSH, Wis. – The Iowa Wolves, which owns the best record in the NBA G League, at 7-1 will visit the Wisconsin Herd for a back-to-back this Friday and Saturday at Oshkosh Arena. Both games will start at 7 p.m. CT. and Friday’s game will be streamed on the NBA G League Tubi app.
This will already be the third game between Iowa and Wisconsin (1-5) this season with the teams facing off back on opening night on Nov. 8 at Wells Fargo Arena. The Wolves won that contest by a score of 111-93 delivering a 22-2 scoring run in the fourth quarter of a close game to put away their fourth-consecutive opening night victory.
At just over the halfway point of the G League’s first-ever Tip-Off Tournament, Iowa looks to pad to its lead in the central division standings. The Wolves are vying for one of the top eight spots in the Showcase cup. For Tip-Off Tournament play, the league's 31 teams are separated into four regional pods, where they will play 14 games against one another. The teams with the best winning-percentage in each regional pod, along with the next four teams across the league with the best win-percentages, will advance to compete for the Showcase Cup in a single-elimination tournament during the NBA G League Winter Showcase next month, Dec. 19-22, in Orlando, Fla.
Iowa cruised to a 118-88 home win over Grand Rapids its last time out this past Saturday night. All 11 available Wolves players scored and logged at least 11 minutes in the team’s wire-to-wire victory. Iowa is 4-0 at home inside Wells Fargo Arena this year.
Wisconsin claimed its first win of the season in its last game defeating Windy City, 86-77. The Herd are trying to win their first home game of the season.
Following the back-to-back with Wisconsin, Iowa finishes the road portion of its Tip-Off Tournament slate when it visits Windy City on Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. CT.
