Iowa Loses to Mexico City, 118-96

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves lost to the Mexico City Capitanes, 118-96, on Saturday night in NBA G League action at Wells Fargo Arena in front of 4,861 fans.
Mexico City (14-14) turned a 10-point deficit after the first quarter into a 54-52 halftime lead and never trailed after the break on its way to the road victory.
Javonte Cooke scored a team-high 23 points for Iowa (6-23) while Trevor Keels and two-way Daishen Nix had 16 and 15 points, respectively.
Louis King finished with a game-high 25 points for the Capitanes. Ethan Thompson was next with 22 points and Kenneth Faried posted a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds.
Iowa and Mexico City meet again Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. inside Wells Fargo Arena.
