Ignite Defeat Wolves in Overtime, 123-118

HENDERSON, Nev. – The NBA G League Ignite defeated the Iowa Wolves in overtime, 123-118 on Wednesday night at the Dollar Loan Center.

The Ignite (1-15) took the game to overtime target score with the teams tied at 116-all after Tyler Smith made a three-pointer with 23.3 seconds remaining. Javonte Cooke missed a 15-foot pullup with 3.0 seconds remaining for Iowa (3-12). The game went to target score.  

John Jenkins scored the first points in overtime for the Ignite with a three. Leonard Miller, who scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds, made a layup. Miller’s layup were the only points in overtime for the Wolves as the Ignite’s Izan Almansa made back-to-back layups to complete the comeback win.

Josh Minott led Iowa with 25 points while Javonte Cooke and Giorgi Bezhanishvili scored 19 and 17 points, respectively. 

The Ignite rallied from a 19-point deficit early in the third quarter by outscoring the Wolves, 30-18, in the third. Iowa held a five-point lead with 1:50 to go in the fourth but went 0-for-3 and committed a turnover down the stretch that allowed the Ignite to take the game to overtime.

Iowa returns to Wells Fargo Arena with the Sioux Falls Skyforce visiting for a two-game series starting Saturday night at 7 p.m. followed by a 10:30 a.m. game on Tuesday.
