Wolves Acquire Quinton Chievous as Returning Rights Player

Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, today announced the team has acquired forward Quinton Chievous as a returning rights player.

Chievous (6-6, 225) appeared in 48 games (17 starts) last season for Iowa. He averaged 8.7 points and 5.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 53.9% from the field.

The former Hampton University alum was drafted by Iowa with the No. 11 pick in the 2016 NBA G League Draft. Chievous’ father, Derrick Chievous, played three years in the NBA for the Houston Rockets (1988-90) and Cleveland Cavaliers (1990-91) and remains the University of Missouri’s all-time leading scorer (2,580).

The Wolves return to action this Sunday at home against the Reno Bighorns. Tip is set for 4:00 p.m.
