Wolves Acquire Perry Jones III as Returning Rights Player

Team Waives Center Tony Parker to Complete Transaction

Des Moines, Iowa – The Iowa Wolves today announced the team has acquired forward Perry Jones III as a returning rights player. In an accompanying move, the Wolves waived center Tony Parker to make room on the roster for Jones.

Jones (6-11, 235) appeared in 24 games for Iowa last season, averaging 6.9 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists.

Signed by the New Orleans Pelicans on September 13, 2017, Jones saw action in three preseason games for the Pelicans, averaging 3.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists.

A former McDonald’s All-American and No. 28 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jones has played in 143 career games, including 21 starts for Oklahoma City from 2012-15. Jones averaged 3.4 points and 1.8 rebounds during his time with the Thunder.

Parker (6-9, 260) appeared in one contest for Iowa on November 7, totaling two points, three rebounds and one assist in 12 minutes of action against the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario.

The Iowa Wolves return to Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday, November 15 against the South Bay Lakers at 7:00 p.m.
