The Iowa Wolves, the NBA G League affiliate of the Minnesota Timberwolves, announced the team has acquired forward Brandone Francis and returning rights forward Jaylen Johnson.
Francis (6-5, 215), finished his collegiate career at Texas Tech University, appearing in 75 games over two seasons for the Red Raiders. The forward matched a career-high in the 2019 national championship game by scoring 17 points against the Virginia Cavaliers.
Johnson (6-9, 230) appeared in 21 games for the Wolves last season, averaging 8.7 points and 4.4 rebounds in 16.4 minutes per contest. Undrafted after spending three seasons at the University of Louisville, Johnson begins his third season in the NBA G League. The forward was acquired by Iowa on Oct. 20, 2018 after appearing in 50 games for the Windy City Bulls during the 2017-18 season.
In a subsequent move, Iowa waived guard Marquise Moore, who appeared in one game this season.
Iowa continues its five-game homestand with a home contest on Wednesday evening against the South Bay Lakers at 7:00 p.m.
