Timberwolves Assign Marcus Georges-Hunt to NBA G League Affiliate Iowa Wolves
Minneapolis/St. Paul – The Minnesota Timberwolves today announced they have assigned guard Marcus Georges-Hunt to the Iowa Wolves, the team’s NBA G League affiliate.
Georges-Hunt has seen action in six games for Minnesota this season, playing a total of 11 minutes and scoring two points. He signed with the Timberwolves on Aug. 11, 2017. The 6-5 guard from Georgia Tech played in a total of five games for the Miami Heat and Orlando Magic in 2016-17, averaging 2.8 points and 1.8 rebounds.
Georges-Hunt appeared in 45 games for the Maine Red Claws last season, averaging 15.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 39.2% from the three-point line. The guard was a 2017 NBA G League All-Star and All-NBA G League Third Team selection last season.
The guard will be active for tonight’s road game when the Wolves take on the Northern Arizona Suns at 7:30 p.m. CT. Iowa returns to Wells Fargo Arena on Wednesday, November 15 to face the South Bay Lakers at 7:00 p.m. CT.
